iBuyRight: Social Responsibility Barcode Project

top

Recipient of the 2006 James R. Chen award for Most Outstanding Project in the Social Mobility Track
iBuyRight is a consumer application that displays social and environmental information about a product on the cell phone. After scanning in the bar code, the application retrieves the relevant information from a social and environmental issues database and displays it on the screen in an easy-to-read format.

By turning the phone into an access point for product information at the point of purchase, this application facilitates informed purchasing. This project is my Master's Final Project.

Collaborative Bargains Database Project

An online bargains aggregator, Collaborative Bargains invites users to post bargains they find online and search for bargains that others have posted.

This was a project for my Database Design & Development class. The prototype was built in PHP and MySQL.

FilterFeeder

top

This application filters your RSS feed subscriptions by keywords. By selecting subjects that you are interested in, you can either filter your feeds by that word or make sure that none of your feeds contain that subject.

This rough prototype was built using the smallx pipeline, RSS, XSLT and simple JSP, for the XML & Related Technologies class.

Artery: Mobile phone art tour application

ARTery is an idea for a mobile application that would allow users to upload photos of public art and tag them for later use as part of a public art tour of San Francisco.

To develop this idea further, we created personas, scenarios and storyboards. We also built a faceted metadata framework using (Protege) that would enable the tagging of these photos.
